Adopting a boss mindset

If you follow us on Instagram, you may know that our CEO, Taylor de la Fuente, is an investor in her mom's wedding catering business. (Missed that post? Click here for a fun story.)

She called Taylor recently feeling sad and asked for a pep-talk.

Taylor: What's wrong?

Mom: I'm having a hard time writing these semi-custom catering menus we talked about. I love writing custom menus for our couples, but I'm feeling deflated with the semi-custom option. This isn't fun. It feels like it's going against everything I stand for creatively.

Taylor: Great. Then let's not do it.

Mom: 🤯

It's as simple as that, compadre.

You're the boss in your business. So if you don't want to do something — don't.

The quickest way to write stale copy and get unfollows is by listening to everyone telling you that you have to market your business a certain way. If something feels wrong/exhausting/icky/over-played/unoriginal to you, you don't have to do it. And if you need that activity to happen for your business to function (like bookkeeping or copywriting), then outsource it

Pep talk over. 😉
